Animal cruelty and other violent crimes. Recent studies show a clear link. But many law enforcement officials are unaware of this connection and miss the opportunity for early intervention with animal abusers.

But a new program in Syracuse, NY is looking to change that. They are requiring convicted animal abusers to attend group therapy as part of their probation in an effort to stop further violence against both animals and people.
